What it is

Clearing opens every summer to help universities fill remaining places and to give applicants a second chance to secure a course. You become eligible if you applied late, declined all your offers, or did not meet the conditions for the universities that originally accepted you. UCAS hosts the official vacancy list, and you contact universities directly to discuss your profile.

Many adults use Clearing intentionally because they needed a longer time to collect documents or preferred to study closer to September. You still follow the same funding rules, but the admissions decision happens in a tighter timeframe.
