1. Eligibility

Age Requirement

• You must be at least 18 years old to use UniStart.
• By creating an account or using the App, you confirm you meet the age requirement.
• You are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement.
• All information you provide is accurate and truthful.

Geographic Restrictions

UniStart is primarily designed for individuals interested in UK university education. Some services may only be available to UK residents or those eligible for UK Student Finance.

Account Suspension

We may refuse service or terminate accounts if you provide false information, violate these Terms or applicable laws, or are linked to fraudulent or abusive activity.

2. Nature of Services

What UniStart Provides

UniStart is a free digital guidance platform that helps users discover UK university courses, understand Student Finance options, receive personalized guidance, connect with partner universities, and access student benefits.

What UniStart Is NOT

• We are not a university or higher education institution.
• We are not a government body or agency.
• We are not Student Finance England (SFE).
• We are not a guarantor of university admission or funding approval.
• We are not a recruitment agency and do not charge students.

We do not approve or deny Student Finance applications, and we do not guarantee admission to any university. All decisions are made solely by the relevant authorities.

We do not provide legal, financial, or immigration advice.

Advisory Services

Recommendations are based on the information you provide and are not guarantees of acceptance or funding. Course details, fees, and entry requirements are subject to change by universities. You are responsible for verifying information with the university before applying.

3. License to Use the App

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, personal license to download, install, and use the App on devices you own or control.

Restrictions

• Do not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App.
• Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Do not remove or alter copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices.
• Do not rent, lease, lend, sell, or redistribute the App.
• Do not use the App for commercial purposes.
• Do not use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
• Do not transfer your license or account to another person.

App Store Terms

Your use of the App is also subject to:

If there's a conflict between these Terms and App Store terms, the App Store terms take precedence for issues related to the App Store itself.

4. User Account

Creating an Account

To access certain features, you must create an account by providing your full name, email address, phone number, and password, or use Apple/Google sign-in.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
• Keep your account details up to date.
• Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account.

Security Best Practices:

• Use a strong, unique password (minimum 8 characters with letters, numbers, and symbols).
• Enable biometric authentication if available.
• Do not share your account with others.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account via Settings -> Privacy and Legal -> Delete Account, or by emailing support@unistart.app with the subject "Delete My Account".

What happens when you delete your account:

1. Your profile and personal data are permanently deleted within 30 days.
2. Saved courses, quiz results, and preferences are removed.
3. We retain anonymized analytics and legal records as required by law (up to 7 years).
4. You can no longer access any data associated with your account.

Uninstalling the App does not delete your account - you must explicitly request deletion.

5. Data Sharing and Advisory Calls

Consent to Contact

When you provide your contact details through UniStart, you consent to being contacted by AllCampus advisors for eligibility checks, course discussions, interview preparation, application guidance, and follow-up calls.

Communication Methods:

• Phone calls (voice)
• Video calls (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or similar)
• Email
• In-app messages (if available)

Opt-out: contact us at support@unistart.app or adjust your notification settings.

Sharing Data with Universities

Your data is shared with a partner university only if:

1. You have discussed your options with an AllCampus advisor.
2. You explicitly confirm that you wish to proceed with an application.
3. You understand the university becomes an independent data controller.

What universities receive:

• Your name, email, and phone number
• Your educational background and interests
• Details about the course(s) you're interested in

We always ask before sharing your data, and you can change your mind at any time before data is shared.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

Permitted Use

• Personal, non-commercial use
• Exploring UK university courses and funding options
• Receiving guidance from AllCampus advisors
• Preparing for university applications

Prohibited Conduct

• Illegal activities, fraud, identity theft, or impersonation
• Unauthorized access attempts or interference with the platform
• Uploading malware or malicious code
• Using bots, scrapers, or automated tools without permission
• Defamatory, obscene, offensive, or discriminatory content
• Harassing or threatening other users or staff
• Spam or unsolicited advertising
• Misrepresentation or providing false information
• Creating multiple accounts to abuse services

Consequences of Violations

1. Issue a warning and request corrective action
2. Suspend your account temporarily
3. Permanently terminate your account
4. Report illegal activity to law enforcement
5. Take legal action to recover damages

7. Intellectual Property Rights

Ownership

All content, branding, and technology within UniStart are owned or licensed by ALLCAMPUS UK LIMITED, including text, graphics, software, trademarks, and UI.

Limited Use Rights

• View and use content within the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
• Print or save course information for your own reference.
• Share links to specific courses or articles via the App's share feature.

User-Generated Content

If you submit content to UniStart, you retain ownership but grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, display, and distribute your content for operating and improving the App.

DMCA and Copyright Complaints

Email support@unistart.app with the subject "Copyright Infringement Claim" and include a description of the copyrighted work, the location of the infringing content, and your contact details.

8. No Guarantee of Outcomes

University Admissions

We do not guarantee acceptance into any course or institution. All admissions decisions are made solely by universities based on their criteria.

Student Finance Eligibility

We do not guarantee approval for Student Finance loans or grants, or any specific funding amount. All funding decisions are made by relevant authorities.

Accuracy of Information

Course details, fees, and eligibility criteria may change without notice. You are responsible for verifying information with official sources.

Third-Party Decisions

We are not liable for decisions made by universities, Student Finance authorities, UK Visas and Immigration, or other third-party organizations.

9. Limitation of Liability

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App and Site are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Exclusion of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, we are not liable for direct or indirect losses, including loss of data, rejected applications, or third-party decisions.

Maximum Liability Cap

Our total liability to you for all claims arising from your use of UniStart shall not exceed 100 pounds sterling or the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim (0 pounds if you used the free service).

Exceptions to Limitations

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. App Updates and Modifications

App Updates

We may release updates to add features, fix bugs, improve performance, and comply with App Store or Google Play policies. You are responsible for keeping the App updated to the latest version.

Service Modifications

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or service, change pricing for premium features (if introduced), or restrict access based on location or eligibility.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

The App may include links to third-party resources such as university websites, Student Finance England, or student discount platforms. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices.

When you sign in with Apple or Google, you agree to their terms and they may share limited data with us as per their policies.

UniStart integrates with UNiDAYS and Student Beans for discount verification. Their terms and privacy policies apply when using their services.

12. Termination

Termination by You

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it and/or deleting your account via Settings -> Privacy and Legal -> Delete Account.

Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in illegal activity, or harm the security or integrity of the App.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your license to use the App ends and provisions that should survive termination remain in effect.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our services, new features, legal requirements, or improvements to user protection.

For significant changes, we will notify you via in-app notification, email, and provide a 30-day notice period where required by law.

Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. General Provisions

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any supplemental terms for specific features, constitute the entire agreement between you and ALLCAMPUS UK LIMITED regarding your use of UniStart.

If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

We may assign or transfer these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets without restriction.

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, government actions, or internet outages.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.

Before filing a lawsuit, contact us at support@unistart.app to resolve issues informally. We will work in good faith to reach a resolution within 30 days.

UK consumers may also have the right to bring proceedings in their local courts and access alternative dispute resolution options.

16. App Store-Specific Terms

Apple App Store

• Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no support obligations.
• Apple is not responsible for the App or related claims.
• Apple's maximum liability is limited to the purchase price, if any.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms.
• You are not located in a US embargoed country or on restricted party lists.

Google Play Store

Your use of the App is subject to Google Play Terms of Service, and Google may remove the App if it violates their policies.

18. Acknowledgment

By using UniStart, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms and our Privacy Policy, had the opportunity to seek independent legal advice, and agree to be bound by these Terms and any future amendments.

If you do not agree, you must immediately stop using UniStart and delete it from your device.
