Why UniStart is free for you
You have probably seen ads promising a “free UK degree” and thought: this has to be a scam. You are right to be sceptical. So here is exactly how it works, and exactly how we make money.
- 100% free for students
- Paid by universities
- No hidden costs
Genuinely free for you
We never ask you for a penny. Not for guidance, not for your application, not for the UniStart app. No hidden costs, ever.
How we actually earn
Universities pay us a commission when you successfully enrol with them. That is our only income. We do not sell your data, charge fees, or run a subscription.
We built you an app and gave it away
We developed the UniStart app with our own money and give it to every student for free. No other agency does this.
Our promise to you
Even when an option earns us no commission, if it is genuinely better for you, we will still tell you. You come first, always.
“I built UniStart because applying to a UK university and sorting Student Finance shouldn't cost you anything, or feel like a gamble. Universities pay us, never you.”

Honest answers
Do I really pay nothing? +
Nothing. The university pays us, not you. That covers guidance, your application, and the app.
What is the catch? +
There is none. This is the standard model in the UK: universities pay advisers a commission for the students they guide. We are simply more transparent about it.
If it is free, how does UniStart survive? +
On the commission a university pays us when you successfully enrol. That single stream funds everything we do, including the free app.
Does the app cost anything? +
No. The UniStart app is free, built by us for you, with no premium tier or in-app charges.
